Patrick Aherne

Patrick Aherne, CPA-CMA, CFA, CIA has extensive work experience in various roles at different organizations. Patrick is currently working as the Director of Internal Audit at NOVA Chemicals since March 2021. In addition, they are also a Member of the Audit Committee for the Government of Alberta, starting from April 2021. Previously, Patrick held several positions at Husky Energy from 1998 to 2021, including Vice President and Chief Audit Executive, Vice President of Downstream Strategy and Commercial Management, Manager of Midstream and Downstream Finance and Accounting, Manager of Investor Relations, and roles in Corporate Planning and Economics and Royalty Coordination.

Patrick Aherne, CPA-CMA, CFA, CIA, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. Patrick has also achieved additional certifications, including the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in the year 2020 and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute in 2004.
