Allan Smith

Allan Smith is a seasoned Power Engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the power generation and pulp and paper industries. Current employment at Nova Scotia Power as a Power Engineer commenced in June 2022, preceded by a position as Shift Supervisor at J.D. Irving, Limited from October 2020 to June 2022. Prior to this, Allan held Shift Supervisor roles at AV Terrace Bay and served as a Lime Kiln & Recaust Operator and Power Engineer at Northern Pulp Nova Scotia Corporation from October 2000 to April 2020. Allan's expertise includes operations in first-class steam plants, biomass-fueled power boilers, and water treatment systems. Educational qualifications include a 2nd Class Power Engineer degree from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology and a 3rd Class Power Engineer degree from I.W. Akerley, along with a certificate in loader operation from Commercial Safety College.
