Jim Barbookles

Before joining Nova Ventures and becoming its Chairman and CEO in 2003, Mr. Barbookles served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thermo Orion, a major water analysis instrumentation manufacturer that was a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermo Electron. Mr. Barbookles also served as President and CEO of Thermedics Detection, a provider of Analytical Instruments for Quality Control and Airport Security. Over the span of Mr. Barbookles' career, he has held several Senior Management positions in manufacturing and operations with Cambridge Instruments, Warner Lambert/American Optical, Sierra Research, United Nuclear, United Technologies, and General Dynamics. He graduated from Buffalo State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with an M.B.A.
