Andrew Caruana

Andrew Caruana has significant work experience in the field of engineering and construction. Andrew is currently a Member of the Board of Directors at the Tunnelling Association of Canada, a position they have held since January 2021. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Product Engineering at Novamera Inc. starting in September 2020.

From September 2015 to September 2020, Andrew held various roles at Smith and Long, including VP of the Industrial and Infrastructure Division and VP of the Tunnelling and Engineering Division. Andrew also served as the Applications Manager for the Tunnelling Division during this time.

Before their tenure at Smith and Long, Andrew worked as an Electrical Superintendent at Obayashi Corporation from March 2013 to September 2015. In this role, they were responsible for project planning, commissioning, and designing construction projects, as well as managing subcontractors and obtaining permits.

From September 2012 to March 2013, Andrew was an Engineering Manager at ABB Inc, specifically focusing on power generation systems. Andrew also served as the Power & Controls Systems Design Manager at Caterpillar Tunneling Canada Corporation (formerly Lovat) from September 2009 to September 2012.

Andrew's career began at Lovat Inc. in July 2003, where they held several roles including Senior Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, and Jr. Electrical Designer. Andrew worked in this capacity until September 2009.

Andrew Caruana attended Ryerson University from 1999 to 2003, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems. In January 2003, Andrew also obtained the certification of Professional Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng) from Professional Engineers Ontario.
