Aparna Shekar

Aparna Shekar currently serves as the Director of Therapeutic Area Strategy in Neuroscience at Novartis since May 2023. Prior to this role, Aparna worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from May 2019 to April 2023, where responsibilities included strategy design and implementation for healthcare transformations as a Project Leader, as well as data analytics and project management as a Consultant. Aparna spent a year in BCG's London office managing cross-functional teams across the UK and EU. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University from August 2013 to January 2019, and holding various leadership roles, such as Chair at the Gordon Research Conferences and Founding Chair of the Vanderbilt University Chapter of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Aparna's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
