Gareth Cawood

Gareth Cawood is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing user-facing software and high-level firmware for medical devices. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at NovaSignal since May 2017, Gareth has led cross-functional teams in feature development while specializing in C#. Prior roles include Software Engineer and Mechatronics Engineer, where expertise in C/C++ was applied to create firmware for an FDA-cleared robotic medical device. With a background as a Mechatronics Intern at Mercedes-Benz South Africa, Gareth coordinated quality incidents for C-Class sedan production. Gareth holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Stellenbosch University and Nelson Mandela University, respectively, along with research experience at Reutlingen University.
