Nicolas Karonis has a diverse work experience in the technology and trading industries. Nicolas started their career as a QA Director at GLTrade France in 1993 and held various roles at GL Trade Japan KK, including CTO Asia, where they built and managed IT teams and trading connectivity across Asia. Nicolas then moved on to become the CTO Asia and Managing Director of GL Trade Australia, where they oversaw the growth of the local team. Following the acquisition of GLTrade by SunGard, they continued their dual role as MD Australia and CTO Asia for SunGard Global Trading Australia. In 2011, they joined Zeptonics as SVP Business Development, responsible for trading platforms in Asia. From 2012 to 2017, they served as the Managing Director EMEA & APAC at Enyx, leading business development and pre-sales efforts for FPGA acceleration in systematic trading. After that, they joined Citi as SVP Markets Technology, overseeing the Equities and Derivatives technology team and platform. Currently, they are the Director of Business Development APAC at NovaSparks, specializing in high-performance market data feed handlers and ticker plants using FPGA technology.
Nicolas Karonis received their education from several institutions. Nicolas pursued a degree in Financial Markets with a specialization in International Economics at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers. Nicolas also attended Ecole National Superieure d'Ingenieurs de Caen, where they studied Information Science and obtained a degree in Engineering. Prior to that, Nicolas completed their Baccalauréat at Lycee Francais d'Athenes.
