Celeste Pidcott

Data Scientist at Novata

Celeste Pidcott began their work experience as a Junior Data Scientist at Novata in January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The University of Sheffield as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from December 2016 to January 2023. During their time at the university, Celeste analyzed neutral current pi0 interactions for the T2K neutrino experiment using linear problem solving and boosted decision trees. Celeste also implemented a simulation of the light injection calibration system for the Hyper Kamiokande outer detector, reducing the estimated source requirements by 33%. Additionally, Celeste served as a thesis mentor and provided general support to graduate students.

Celeste Pidcott's education history begins in 2008 when they enrolled at Lancaster University. Celeste pursued a degree in Physics with Particle Physics and Cosmology, completing their studies in 2012 and obtaining a Bachelor's degree in MPhys. Afterward, they ventured into further education by joining the University of Warwick in 2012. There, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Elementary Particle Physics, which they successfully completed in 2016. In 2022, Celeste participated in a program called DS4A by Correlation One. No specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this program.
