William J. Golden

Founder & Chairman at Noveome Biotherapeutics

Mr. Golden founded the Company in 2000. He has served as either Chairman and CEO or Executive Chairman since inception.

In 1997, Mr. Golden approached UPMC Health System for assistance in starting an SBA-funded venture capital firm to stimulate the development of a life sciences industry cluster in Pittsburgh. The result was the founding in 1998 of Lancet Capital Health Ventures, L.P., the first SBA-licensed venture capital firm affiliated with an academic medical center. Lancet Capital was the seed investor in Noveome; its limited partners include Pittsburgh’s leading healthcare institutions including UPMC Health System, Highmark Health, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Golden served as Managing Director of Lancet Capital from 1998 to 2021.

Previously, Mr. Golden spent 5 years as Director of a venture capital fund affiliated with Boston University.

Mr. Golden has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
