Afonso Duarte

Afonso Duarte has extensive experience in the banking industry. Afonso started their career in 2000 at Banco Espirito Santo, where they served as the Director of Middle Market Corporate. In this role, they led a team of 12-15 members and was responsible for cross-selling and promoting corporate products, as well as developing corporate clients in new markets. Afonso also served as the Director of Marketing in the corporate market. In 2006, they joined NOVO BANCO, where they held various positions including Corporate Marketing Director and Director of Middle Market Corporate. Most recently, they have been serving as the Central Director of SMEs. Afonso Duarte's work experience emphasizes a commitment to excellence, crisis management, and constant learning and development for their teams.

Afonso Duarte began their education with a Licentiate degree in Business/Commerce from Universidade Internacional, which they completed between the years 1992 and 1997. Afonso then pursued a Postgraduate degree in Finance and Financial Management Services from ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, which they attended from 2000 to 2002. In 2009, Afonso focused on Organizational Leadership, completing programs at IESE Business School and Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Afonso also attended INSEAD in 2010, where they studied Banking and Financial Support Services. In 2023, Afonso enrolled in the Leadership Programme at Nova School of Business and Economics, emphasizing Lideranca.
