Morten Bache

Morten Bache is the Scientific Director at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, specializing in quantum technologies for life sciences, leading the Quantum Life Initiative. Bache's expertise encompasses quantum technologies, technical sciences, research infrastructures, med-tech and health-tech, as well as data science, physics, applied mathematics, energy, climate, and carbon capture storage and utilization. Previously, Bache served as Senior Scientific Lead and Senior Scientific Officer at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, focusing on grant development and analysis in natural and technical sciences. Bache's academic career includes positions as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, with a focus on photonics and nonlinear optical phenomena, alongside postdoctoral research at the University of Insubria and the Technical University of Denmark. Bache holds a Doctor Technices degree and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Technical University of Denmark, with foundational education in mathematics and physics.
