Susan Clugston

Susan Clugston is a highly experienced professional in the fields of biochemistry and biophysics, currently serving as the Director of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Novo Nordisk since June 2024. Previously, Clugston held the position of Director of Biochemistry at Treeline Biosciences, focusing on enzyme assays and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies from August 2021 to May 2024. Prior to that, Clugston was the Director of Lead Discovery at Goldfinch Bio and held roles as Principal Scientist at both Goldfinch Bio and Enanta Pharmaceuticals, primarily concentrating on enzymology and enzyme assays. Clugston began as a Senior Scientist I at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, leading a biochemistry group in assay development and kinetic characterization for antibacterial discovery projects. Academically, Clugston earned a PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biochemistry/Enzymology at Harvard Medical School.
