Heyward Robinson

Heyward is charged with multiple corporate functions, including business development, communications, promotion, and financing. He brings a unique technical and policy background to the team. Heyward previously worked in technical positions at SRI International, Stanford University, and the University of Florida, managing multi-million dollar contracts. He is the author of over 40 publications, holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford, and earned a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. He is a former City Council Member and Mayor of Menlo Park, CA. During his Council tenure, he served on several regional transportation and environmental boards. Heyward is the co-founder of Menlo Park’s Green Ribbon Citizen’s Committee (GRCC). He previously served on the Executive Committee of the Sierra Club’s Loma Prieta Chapter and on the Board of Directors of Sustainable Silicon Valley. Heyward and his wife, Joanna, were winners of Menlo Park’s 2002 Environmental Quality Award for the green remodel of their home.
