Willbe Ho has held various positions in the field of chemistry since 2005. In 2005, they worked as a Year Group Coordinator for "Stride for a Cure" with the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. In 2007, they worked as a Visitor Services Assistant for the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive. In 2010, they were a Special Auditor/Exchange Researcher in the Kambe Group at the Osaka University Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Applied Chemistry, where they researched the Ni catalyzed cross-coupling of alkyl halides with Grignards in the presence of carboxylic acid functional groups. In 2011, they held the role of Associate Scientist II at Amyris Inc., where they investigated the feasibility of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalyst systems to incorporate Amyris' renewable hydrocarbon feedstock in high performance base oils. Finally, from 2013 to present, they have been the Head of Product Development and Technology Strategy at Novvi, LLC, where they design and carries out distillation experiments for optimizing each product and their effect on the yield and physical properties of other distillation products. Willbe also guides the development of analytical methods and process specifications for oligomerization, hydrogenation and distillation steps to optimize product properties and incorporates customer feedback for the development of next-gen products to meet market needs.
Willbe Ho attended Sha Tin College from 1999 to 2006, and then the University of California, Berkeley from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
