Sandy Krishnamurthy has been active in the medical device field since 1975. With a double master’s degree in organic and biochemistry, she has played many roles in the industry from her first job as a commercial laboratory medical technologist to launching and managing a $100M product development program. After 15 years in the clinical diagnostic business unit of Beckman Instruments, she left to set up her own consulting firm advising diagnostic companies in the areas of customer requirements assessment, new product/business development, marketing, and clinical field trials.
She has managed products and programs in the US, Europe, Japan, South America, Australia, and more recently China. Along the way, she established quality programs, conducted GMP audits, contributed to many consensus standards in laboratory medicine, and set up numerous licensing and alliance agreements both in the US and Europe.
Her major interest has been in the clinical laboratory systems business integrating hardware, software, consumables, and customer service requirements. Over the years, she has led the development from product definition to customer delivery of more than 50 new products. Today, her focus is on managing the instrumentation investment of NOWDx bringing an electro-optical reader to market for use with the ADEXUS lateral flow cassette for point of care clinical testing.
