Chief Technology Officer at nowsite

Roman Gubarenko has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Most recently, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Nowsite since October 2019. Prior to that, they spent six years at SOTI Inc., where they started as a Senior Full-Stack Architect and eventually became the Principal Web Architect. During their time at SOTI, they played a significant role in redesigning the enterprise Front End and implementing unique solutions that became key features of the enterprise MDM platform, MobiControl.

Before joining SOTI, Gubarenko founded Makeitsoft.com in 2010, where they researched and developed new server and client-side architectural patterns. Roman continued to work on this project until November 2015.

From 2007 to 2013, Gubarenko worked at Puretracks as a Sr. Applications Architect and Developer. Roman inspired the development team for innovation and developed a unique e-commerce solution that helped the company thrive in a disrupted industry. In addition to their role at Puretracks, they also worked as a self-employed professional in 2011, creating the FBWizard application, which allowed non-technical customers to create functional websites using FastBrand CMS.

In 2006, Gubarenko took on a project for WebCanada/Smith Vitale Inc. and developed a complete restaurant Point-Of-Sale system called SweetLulu POS. This system is currently used at all Sweet Lulu locations across GTA. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as a Software Developer at Travelsoft Technology Group Inc., starting as a CO-OP student and later becoming a full-time employee.

Gubarenko's career began in 2002 when they worked as an Application Developer at the Federal Bank for Innovation and Development, where they created various web and desktop applications. Roman then worked as a C/C++ Programmer at the Ramenskoe Design Bureau in 2001, where they gained experience in low-level hardware programming. During their time at MPEI (TU), Dept. of Automatics and Computers, from 2000 to 2001, they participated in the development of computer tools and ported a 3DS Model Rendering library for Linux using ANSI C.

Roman Gubarenko received their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) in 2003. Roman then continued their education at York University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honours in Computer Science in 2006.
