Jon Skirnir Agustsson

Jon Skirnir Agustsson has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jon Skirnir is currently the VP of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Nox Medical, where they manage the development of data-driven products for medical applications and leads the AI and ML team. Previously, they served as the Director of Analysis, Data, and Research at Nox Medical, where they oversaw the collection of data and development of regulated medical products. Before joining Nox Medical, Jon worked as an Engineering Research Manager at the same company, focusing on analyzing bio-signals using AI, ML, and Data Science.

Prior to their work at Nox Medical, Jon was the COO at PlayfulVision, where they led the deployment of a statistical system for volleyball matches at the Volleyball World Championships. Jon Skirnir also worked as a Consultant at PumpTire, where they facilitated collaborations with scientists in material science and fluid dynamics to develop pumping technology. Jon's experience includes serving as the CTO at HydroMonitoring, where they commercialized a novel instrument for monitoring pollution in wastewater. Jon Skirnir also worked as a Researcher at EPFL, where they developed a device to measure pollution in wastewater.

Jon's early career includes their role as a Ph.D. student at Universität Basel and as a Research Engineer at Mentis Cura ehf., where they worked on growing thin films and maintaining a sputtering system. Jon Skirnir Agustsson has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Basel, which they obtained from 2007 to 2011. Jon Skirnir also holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Háskóli Íslands, which they obtained from 1999 to 2004 and 2003 to 2005, respectively. In 2012, they completed the Venture Challenge program at Venture Labs, focusing on Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations. Additionally, Jon has obtained various certifications, including Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials and AI for Medicine from Coursera in 2020, and TensorFlow in Practice Specialization and Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in 2019.
