Astraia Rühl serves as the General Director of Artsenfederatie KNMG since March 2017, advocating for responsible medical care for over 59,000 physicians and medical students in the Netherlands. In addition to this role, Astraia holds leadership positions with multiple organizations, including Chair of the Supervisory Board of NPi, which focuses on the professionalization of paramedical professionals, and Chair of the Board of Stichting Werkgelegenheid Geneeskundigen (SWG). Astraia is also a member of advisory and governance bodies such as the Capaciteitsorgaan, the advisory board of Medisch Contact, and the evaluation committee of the RAAK program at the Nationaal Regieorgaan Praktijkgericht Onderzoek SIA. An experienced professional in healthcare management, Astraia has previously held directorial roles at Vilans and served as Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board for Stichting Gezondheidscentra Haarlemmermeer. Astraia's educational background includes a Master's degree in Management and Organization and a degree in physiotherapy.
