Leonie Mueck

Leonie Mueck has extensive work experience in the fields of product management, scientific editing, and science writing. Leonie is currently employed as the VP Product at nPlan since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Riverlane as the Chief Product Officer from July 2020 to March 2023 and as the Vice President Product from September 2019 to July 2020. At Riverlane, their responsibilities included product and business strategy, scientific strategy, communications, and marketing. Before joining Riverlane, they worked at the Public Library of Science as the Division Editor, Physical Sciences and Engineering from August 2017 to September 2019. Leonie also has experience as a freelance science writer, writing features and commentaries for publications such as New Scientist, Engineering&Technology, and various journals of the Nature family from 2013 to 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked at Nature Research (Publishing) in various editorial roles, including Senior Editor, Associate Editor, and Assistant Editor from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they have founded and served as the Editor of the interdisciplinary journal Journal of Unsolved Question, JUnQ from 2010 to 2013, gaining recognition and winning prizes for the journal's innovative approach to publishing negative and null-result research.

Leonie Mueck has a strong education background in the field of chemistry. Leonie began their academic journey in 2004 at The Philipp University of Marburg, where they pursued a Master's Degree in Chemistry. Their studies continued until 2009, when they successfully completed their degree.

During their time at Marburg, Leonie Mueck took a one-year break from their main studies and attended St. Petersburg State University, Faculty of Chemistry from 2007 to 2008. Leonie specialized in Computational Chemistry during their time there.

After completing their Master's Degree, Leonie Mueck moved on to Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2010. Leonie immersed herself in the field of Quantum Chemistry and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Their studies at Mainz lasted until 2013 when they successfully obtained their Ph.D. in Quantum Chemistry.

Throughout their educational journey, Leonie Mueck primarily focused on chemistry, with a particular interest in computational and quantum chemistry. Their combination of academic degrees provides their with a solid foundation in these areas of scientific research.
