James Barbour Jr.

James Barbour Jr. serves as the Senior Director of Individual Giving at NPR since March 2023, having previously held the role of Director of Individual Giving for the Southeast Region at the National Audubon Society from September 2019 to January 2023. At the National Audubon Society, James focused on expanding the major gifts program through collaboration with regional leadership and conservation professionals. Prior to that, James was the Local Sales Director at WAMU 88.5 from May 2010 to June 2019, managing a team and implementing CRM systems. James's career also includes experience as the Director of Development at WEAA 88.9 FM from August 2005 to April 2010, where responsibilities included corporate sponsorship and marketing plans. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Morgan State University and has completed certifications in Digital Sales and Talent Management.
