Wei Wu has work experience as an SDK Engineer at Nreal, where they enabled CloudXR features on Nreal glasses and made improvements for better performance. They also measured cloud and local rendering performance.

Wei Wu earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, studying from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, Wu completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, attending from 2011 to 2015. During Wu's bachelor's program, there was a temporary exchange to the University of Minnesota in 2013, focusing on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Wu's high school education was completed at the High School Affiliated to BIT from 2008 to 2011, specializing in General Science. In addition to these academic qualifications, Wu also obtained a certification in "Front-End Web UI Frameworks and Tools: Bootstrap 4" from Coursera in July 2022.
