John Giery

John Giery has a diverse background in the energy sector, currently serving as a Power Originator in Wholesale Origination at NRG Energy since September 2017, where focus is on hedging ERCOT flow and recognition includes the 2023 President's Club "Originator of the Year" award. Previous roles include supporting the EVP of NRG Business as an Associate in Business Operations, as well as engaging in customer and broker-facing C&I retail power sales. Prior to NRG, John worked as a Business Development professional at NOVO Consulting LLC and as an Account Executive at Bullhorn. Early career experience includes serving as a First Mate at Patriot Party Boats. Education includes a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Bentley University and a post-graduate year at Cushing Academy, along with a study period at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
