Kevin Downey

Kevin Downey is an accomplished academic and editor with extensive experience in public policy, governance, and history. Currently serving as the Lead Freelance Editor for Content and Review at CPG - The German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance in Bangkok, Thailand, Kevin has also held several associate positions with NRI Staffing and Ajilon since 2019. Previously, Kevin was a lecturer at Thammasat University, teaching various undergraduate and graduate courses focused on political science and ASEAN studies. Kevin's academic journey includes a PhD in South and Southeast Asian History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where a Boren Fellowship funded research in Bangladesh, resulting in a dissertation on the Fara’izi Movement. Additional experience includes managing publications at the East-West Center in Washington and playing a supportive role in democratization initiatives. Kevin's educational background encompasses degrees from prestigious institutions, including the University of Chicago and North Carolina State University.
