Niko Honkasalo has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Niko started their career as a Financial Accountant and then worked as a Financial Analyst and Analyst in sales and marketing. Niko progressed through various roles in finance, including Senior Financial Analyst, Decision Support & Planning Manager, and Strategic Planning & Analysis Manager.
In 2002, Honkasalo joined Wrigley, where they served as the Supply Chain Finance Manager for the Pacific region and later became the Finance Manager for the Hong Kong unit. Niko then took on the role of Finance Director for North Asia, leading the finance function for Hong Kong and Taiwan. During this time, they also served as the company secretary for Hong Kong and Taiwan and as a Board Director for Taiwan.
In 2016, Honkasalo became the S&OP+ and Strategy Director for Asia Pacific, where they developed a regional S&OP process to improve business transparency and market predictability. Niko also had finance responsibility for the Global Mints brand board.
In 2017, they moved to Mars Wrigley Confectionery as the VP of S&OP and Activity Management for the Asia, Middle East, and Africa region. In this role, they were responsible for integrated business planning and activity management in over 80 countries. Niko implemented a new organizational design for IBP and Activity Management, leading to leaner regional structures and improved functional capability.
Honkasalo's most recent position was as the Vice President of Commercial & Planning at NS BlueScope, where they joined in 2020. Overall, Honkasalo has a strong background in finance, supply chain, strategy, and planning across various leadership roles.
Niko Honkasalo attended the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.
