Navid Fallahinia

Navid Fallahinia has worked in various roles in the field of machine learning and computer vision. In 2022, they joined nSight Surgical as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (CV), where they are developing ML models for activity recognition and event detection in the operating room to improve the safety and efficiency of medical procedures. Navid is also improving the latency of the ML models to deploy in production on edge devices for real-time OR monitoring, and building a cloud-based MLOps pipeline including intelligent data sourcing, auto-annotation, training, model optimization, and edge deployment. In 2021, they worked as an AI/ML Researcher at Ford Motor Company, where they worked with the Autonomous Driving team in the R&A department on developing ML models for trajectory prediction (MSST-Net) using video analysis from videos. Navid's work led to one patent for Driver Assist Cockpit Technology. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah.

Navid Fallahinia attended the University of Utah from 2016 to 2021, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Robotics.
