Omar Tlais

Omar Tlais, a Chartered Accountant, currently serves as the Director of Financial Analysis & Partnerships at the NSW Department of Education, where responsibilities include leading a team of Finance Business Partners and providing strategic insights that influence operational and strategic decision-making. Previous roles include Finance Manager at the NSW Department of Education, Senior Manager of Planning and Forecasting at the Commonwealth Bank, and Commercial Finance Manager at Telstra, among others. Omar has a strong background in finance, having served as a Finance Manager at both Commonwealth Bank and Macquarie Group, and began a career in auditing at EY. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney, as well as a Higher School Certificate from Sydney Technical High School.
