Steven Spierings

Steven Spierings is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media management and public affairs. Currently serving as Acting Media Manager and Senior Media Advisor at the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure since April 2023, Steven previously held various roles including Public Affairs Advisor at Sydney Water and Media Advisor at the Department of Planning and Environment. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Public Affairs Officer at the NSW Environment Protection Authority and Communications Manager for the Hornsby Electorate Office at the Parliament of NSW. Steven began a career in journalism at Fairfax Media from 2008 to 2013. Academically, Steven holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Western Sydney University and completed studies at St Edward's College and Macquarie Community College.
