Mark Scala

Mark Scala is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications for the NSW Government since June 2023. Prior roles include External Communications Manager for QBE Insurance from September 2021 to June 2023, and Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement at Transport for NSW from June 2016 to July 2021. Mark also held the position of Director of Corporate Relations at Service NSW from November 2012 to June 2016, and worked as Communications Manager and Senior Project Manager at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (NSW) from February 2011 to November 2012. Earlier experience includes serving as Communications Manager and Senior Communications Advisor for the City of Sydney from February 2006 to February 2011, and as a Journalist at the Daily Telegraph from January 1998 to February 2006. Mark holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Management from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Western Sydney.
