Samara Dobbins is the current Deputy Secretary for People and Operations at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in New South Wales, Australia. Samara has held this position since March of 2012. Prior to their current role, Dobbins served as the Project Director for the Public Service Commission Implementation from January 2010 to March 2012 at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Before that, they were the Executive Director for Workplace Relations Communications and Solutions from July 2009 to January 2010 at the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman. Dobbins began their career in August 2003 as the General Manager for Government Relations and Information at the Workplace Authority where they stayed until June of 2009. In this role, they were responsible for communications both internally and externally, as well as conducting research, reporting, parliamentary liaison, and freedom of information management. Dobbins is a skilled leader and manager with a proven track record in delivering results in complex organisations.

Samara Dobbins has a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Sydney.
