Deputy Director Of Field Operations And Organizing at National Treasury Employees Union

Julie Lenggenhager has over two decades of work experience in the legal field, primarily focused on labor union representation. Julie worked as an Associate Attorney at Spector & Wolfe from 2001 to 2006, where they represented private and public sector labor unions and Taft-Hartley health and welfare funds. Julie successfully defended union clients in claims of violations of the duty of fair representation and represented fund clients in federal court litigation to collect delinquent contributions.

In 2006, Julie joined the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) as an Assistant Counsel. In this role, they served as a liaison between local chapter leadership and headquarters, prepared and presented cases for arbitration hearings, and drafted legal writings.

Currently, Julie holds the position of Deputy Director of Field Operations and Organizing at NTEU. As the right-hand to the Director, Julie assists in managing and overseeing the organization's field offices, organizing efforts, and learning and development programs. Julie also develops legal strategies, implements membership building programs, and contributes to national training conferences. Additionally, Julie works on special projects aimed at enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Department and NTEU.

Julie Lenggenhager graduated with a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Saint Louis University School of Law from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from Illinois Wesleyan University from 1993 to 1997. Julie has also obtained bar admissions in the District of Columbia, the State of Illinois, and the State of Missouri.
