Colin Swan

Colin Swan's work experience begins in 2014 with a role as a Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh, where they conducted research on mesh networks for emergency communications. Colin also worked as a Student Worker, performing computer hardware maintenance and assisting with distance learning classes.

In 2015, Colin worked as a Student Intern - Software Engineering at BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC, where they developed a monitoring solution using Python and gained experience in SQL database management.

Colin's next role was as a Tier 2 IT Help Desk Service Analyst at PPG Industries in 2017, where they provided remote IT support and escalated critical issues.

Colin then joined ConnectiveRx in 2019 as a Quality Assurance Automation specialist, focusing on automation testing.

Colin's most recent role is as a QA Engineer at nTopology since 2021. This position allows him to expand their experience in QA testing to desktop applications, specifically engineering design software for additive manufacturing. Colin faces unique challenges in testing desktop applications compared to web applications.

Throughout their career, Colin has gained experience in various programming languages, including Java, C, Visual Basic, Python, and Assembly. Colin has also developed skills in public speaking, technical support, and hardware maintenance.

Colin Swan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In February 2022, they obtained the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification from Brightest.
