Yasuyuki Kataoka

Yasuyuki Kataoka is a research scientist at NTT Research. Yasuyuki has also worked as a data scientist and ML/AI engineer at NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. from September 2015 to March 2019. There, they led applied machine learning product/PoC development with customers. Some of their notable projects include rider's power prediction for the Tour de France and IndyCar wearable data validation. Yasuyuki has also worked on customer PoCs for anomaly detection and driver and car telemetry data analytics. Prior to that, they worked as a researcher at NTT R&D, Service Evolution Lab. from April 2011 to August 2015.

Yasuyuki Kataoka studied Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at the University of Waterloo as an exchange student. Yasuyuki then went on to earn their Master of Engineering in Robotics and Nonlinear Control Theory from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Yasuyuki also holds a B.Eng. in Robotics, Control and System Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. In addition, Yasuyuki Kataoka has earned certifications from Coursera in Data Engineering on Google Cloud Platform and Deep Learning Specialization, as well as a certification from Udacity in Self-Driving Car Engineer.
