Ruth Yap has extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Ruth began their career as an Assistant Marketing Manager at South Eastern Private Ltd in 1998. Ruth then worked as a Senior Brand Manager at Unilever from 1999 to 2008, leading the development of a significant global innovation project and achieving category leadership positions in key cities in China. From 2008 to 2013, Ruth served as the Senior Regional Marketing Manager at Johnson & Johnson Medical Asia Pacific, where they developed category strategies, led product portfolio development, and supported regional business growth. Ruth then joined Parkway Group Healthcare as the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Marketing, where they built digital and content marketing teams, developed go-to-market strategies, and drove branding strategy across various brands. Ruth currently holds the position of Head of Group Customer Segments, Insights, and Branding at NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd since 2019.

Ruth Yap completed a Mini MBA in Digital Marketing from Rutgers University in 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Management degree from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) between 2001 and 2003. Ruth also holds a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences degree in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Singapore. In addition to their formal education, Ruth also obtained a certification in Marketing and Creativity Masterclass with Seth Godin from WOBI in 2021.
