Fan Yang

Fan Yang (Ph.D) has extensive work experience in the field of data analytics and artificial intelligence. Currently, Yang serves as the VP, Head of Analytics Center of Excellence at Income Insurance Limited, where they lead a team of data scientists and engineers in developing AI/ML solutions to enhance customer experience, assess risk, and streamline operations. Prior to this, Yang worked as the Practice Lead for Analytics and Consulting, Director at DXC Technology, where they played a key role in helping clients adopt data-driven practices and achieve digital transformation goals. They were also responsible for driving business growth strategies in the ASEAN region and serving as a subject matter expert in the insurance industry and AI/ML adoption. Before joining DXC Technology, Yang held various positions at Munich Re (Group), including Head of Analytics Solutions and Principal Data Scientist (Regional), Manager. In these roles, they led the innovation and implementation of data analytics services using advanced machine learning and AI for clients. Yang also worked at EY as a Manager, Data Scientist, specializing in predictive analysis and text processing. They have additionally gained experience at Prudential Services Asia as a Data Scientist, Fujitsu Singapore as a Data Scientist, Senior Researcher, and ST Electronics as a Senior Engineer. Throughout their career, Yang has demonstrated expertise in areas such as data ingestion, cleansing, manipulation, modeling, and implementation, as well as proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python. Their work experience showcases a strong track record of leveraging data-driven insights to solve complex industry issues and drive informed decision-making.

Fan Yang (Ph.D) completed a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that, Fan Yang received a Bachelor's Degree in Hydropower from Huazhong University of Science and Technology from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their academic degrees, Fan Yang has obtained various certifications, including "Leadership Strategies for Women," "Succeeding in a New Role By Managing Up," "Tech Career Skills: Developing Your Personal Brand," "Communicating with Confidence," "Regression Models," "edX Honor Code Certificate for Tackling the Challenges of Big Data," and "R Programming."
