Martyn Coombs

Martyn Coombs is president of BWXT Medical Ltd. (BWXT Medical). BWXT Medical is a nuclear medicine company, and manufactures medical isotopes, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and partners with companies developing new drugs. Its customers include pharmaceutical companies, radiopharmacies, hospitals and ultimately patients.

Recognized as an industry leader in nuclear medicine, Mr. Coombs has 25 years of executive leadership experience in the sector. Prior to joining BWXT Medical in July 2020, he led Jubilant DraxImage, as president, through a period of rapid organic growth – tripling revenue in four years. He built a strong team, and advanced the development pipeline towards approval, specifically for Ruby-Fill, a generator product for cardiology.

Previously holding senior leadership roles at Amersham (now GE Healthcare) and Nihon Medi-Physics, Mr. Coombs also served as CEO of Asterand plc, a public life sciences company, where he received an award from the Financial Times in 2008 for the top performing stock on the London Stock Exchange, out of over 2,000 companies. He was also the CEO of Predict Ltd, a consultancy focused on the nuclear medicine sector.

Mr. Coombs has lived and worked in the United States, Japan, Canada, and Europe. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Reading and holds an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School.
