Nicholas Higgins currently serves on the Technology Sourcing Team at Nucleate since October 2023. Simultaneously, Nicholas is a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on the development of a novel membrane oxygenator for an artificial placenta under the guidance of Dr. Shuvo Roy. Previous experience includes a role as a Catalyst Intern at UCSF Innovation Ventures, which provided insights into translational research and the commercialization of academic discoveries. Nicholas also worked in various undergraduate research positions, including developing optimized valving for microfluidic devices at Grover Lab and creating stress-tolerant mammalian cells at TIME Lab. Nicholas's educational background includes pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering at both the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley, following a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of California, Riverside.
