Francesco Billari

Francesco Billari is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of demography, currently serving as the Rector, Full Professor of Demography, and Dean of the Faculty at Università Bocconi since February 2017. Francesco is also a Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, where prior roles included Professor of Sociology and Demography and Head of the Department of Sociology. Francesco has held significant positions within the European Association for Population Studies, including President and Secretary-General and Treasurer, and has directed the Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics at Università Bocconi until July 2012. Additional experience includes a Distinguished International Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and leadership of a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research. Francesco holds a Ph.D. in Demography from Università degli Studi di Padova and a Laurea in Economics from Università Bocconi.
