Esther Powell

Esther Powell is a skilled nursing professional with extensive experience in education and healthcare management. Currently serving as an Instructor for Licensed Practical Nursing at Nunavut Arctic College and holding managerial roles in tuberculosis elimination and clinical management at Nunavut Tunngavik, Esther also represents the Kivalliq Region on the board of Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada. Previous roles include course development for Nunavut Arctic College, on-site nursing and mental health support during the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and community health nursing with the Government of Nunavut. Esther holds a Diploma in Nursing from Aurora College, completed management training through Dalhousie University, and has further education focused on Indigenous populations. Esther remains actively involved in mental health initiatives through the Mental Health Commission of Canada since 2014.
