Jade Owen is an experienced professional in marine affairs and policy development, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Marine at Nunavut Tunngavik since January 2025. Prior to this role, Jade managed research design and policy development at Nunavut Arctic College from July 2022 to January 2025. Inuit exchanged Aboriginal title to all their traditional land in the Nunavut Settlement Area for the rights and benefits set out in the Nunavut Agreement. The management of land, water and wildlife is very important to Inuit. NTI coordinates and manages Inuit responsibilities set out in the Nunavut Agreement and ensures that the federal and territorial governments fulfill their obligations.
