Benjamin de Carvalho serves as the Editor in Chief at Cooperation and Conflict since June 2023 and also holds the position of Section Chair for Historical International Relations at the International Studies Association (ISA). With a long-standing career at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) since 2003, Benjamin has been involved as a Research Professor, Principal Investigator for significant research projects such as Empires, Privateering and the Sea (EMPRISE) and Instruments of State Power (ISPO), and has led the Research Group on Global Order and Diplomacy. Prior roles include Senior Research Fellow and Doctoral Research Fellow at ISA, Associate Professor II at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and Editor at Internasjonal Politikk. Benjamin holds multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, and has an extensive academic background in International Studies and Political Science.
