Zixiao Shi

Zixiao (Shawn) Shi, PhD, is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and building engineering. Currently a Senior Data Scientist at Meta since November 2021, Zixiao has contributed to expanding AI Studio and improving LLM tuning for internationalization evaluations. As an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University since August 2019, Zixiao teaches data science and researches data imputation, anomaly detection, and generative AI applications. Prior roles include Data Scientist at Shopify, where Zixiao led various projects, and Research Associate at the National Research Council Canada, focusing on fault diagnosis and data pipelines. Zixiao's earlier experience includes founding Humble Building Consulting and significant research at Carleton University and Purdue University, culminating in a PhD in Smart Building Technology.
