Roman Vakulchuk is a seasoned academic and expert in energy research, currently serving as the Head of the Centre for Energy Research at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) since August 2013. In addition to this role, Roman has been a Visiting Lecturer at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek since May 2014 and an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Business of Universitetet i Nordland since January 2013, teaching courses related to strategic foresight, climate change, and renewable energy. As a co-founder of the Central Asian Development Institute (CADI) and with prior experience as a Country Expert at the Natural Resource Governance Institute, Roman has extensively researched economic corridor development in Central Asia and China during a tenure as an Expert on Central Asia at the Asian Development Bank. Roman's academic background includes a PhD in Economics from Jacobs University Bremen and multiple Master's degrees in Peace and Security Studies and International Relations, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and a Political Science exchange program at Stockholm University.
