Tom Burdett, PhD

Tom Burdett, PhD, has a range of work experience in the field of biomedical sciences. Tom is currently employed at Nura Bio, where they started as a Scientist II in May 2018. Tom was promoted to Senior Scientist in February 2021 and then to Principal Scientist in June 2022. Prior to joining Nura Bio, Tom worked at Oregon Health and Science University as a Researcher from April 2017 to May 2018. Tom also served as a Lab Technician at Massachusetts General Hospital from August 2008 to August 2011. Tom completed their PhD in Neurobiology at the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where they worked as a PhD Candidate in the Freeman Lab. Their research focused on uncovering novel molecular components related to axon degeneration in trauma and disease. Tom's previous roles demonstrate their expertise in the field and their progression in the scientific research industry.

Tom Burdett, PhD pursued their education in a sequential manner, beginning with their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of Vermont from 2004 to 2008. Tom then proceeded to the UMass Chan Medical School, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neurobiology - Neurodegeneration between 2011 and 2017.
