Winston de Armas

Winston De Armas has a diverse work experience in the fields of biomedical engineering and research. Winston currently works as a Research Team Lead - Biosignals / MLOps at NuraLogix Corporation, where they are responsible for leading the research team focused on biosignals and machine learning operations. Prior to this, they worked as a Biosignals Engineer at the same company from January 2018 to October 2021.

Before joining NuraLogix, Winston worked as a Biomedical Engineer at Decanex Inc. from January 2015 to January 2018. In this role, they conducted research and development for the extraction and long-term monitoring of biometrics from raw physiological data. Winston'sresponsibilities included digital biosignal processing, statistical analysis of physiological data, and various other tasks related to modeling and simulation.

Winston also worked as a Biomedical Engineer at Intronix Technologies Corporation from May 2013 to January 2015. In this role, they focused on digital signal processing of electromyographic signals and algorithm development for automated medical diagnosis. Winston also had experience in implementing algorithms for medical device software and web development using various programming languages.

Lastly, Winston gained engineering internship experience at Hydro One from September 2008 to August 2009. In this role, they led a team of engineering interns, designed and developed a relational database, and provided training to the interns.

Winston De Armas earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from McMaster University, between 2005-2010. Winston then pursued a Master of Health Sciences (M.HSc.) in Clinical Engineering at the University of Toronto from 2011-2013.
