Dr Caroline Kenny

Head Of Research And Evidence at The Nursing and Midwifery Council

Dr. Caroline Kenny has a diverse work experience in the fields of research, evidence, social science, and education. Dr Caroline began their career as a Lecturer and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Birmingham in 2005. Dr Caroline then worked as an Evaluation Consultant at Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid in 2010. Dr. Kenny also held the position of Research Officer at the Institute of Education from 2010 to 2014. During this time, they also worked as a Research Associate at University College London from 2014 to 2019. Dr Caroline'sroles at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology included Social Science Adviser from 2014 to 2017 and later as Head of Social Science from 2017 to 2019. Most recently, Dr. Kenny served as the Head of Research and Evidence at The Nursing and Midwifery Council starting in 2019.

Dr. Caroline Kenny completed their BA Hons in History and Politics at Leeds Beckett University from 2000 to 2003. Dr Caroline then pursued an MA in Public Administration & Public Policy at the University of York from 2003 to 2004. Following this, they obtained an MA in Political Science (Research Methods) from the University of Birmingham from 2004 to 2005. Dr. Kenny continued their education at the University of Birmingham, completing a PhD in Political Science from 2005 to 2010. In 2011, they attended the EPPI-Centre, Institute of Education, University of London, for a course on Methods for Research Synthesis: from Meta-Analysis to Meta-Ethnography.
