Michelle Herbert

Michelle Herbert currently serves as the Workforce Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead at The Nursing and Midwifery Council since September 2023, following a significant tenure at HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) where roles included Senior Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, HMRC Race Network co-Chair, and Race Equality Action Plan Project Lead. In these positions, Michelle Herbert championed initiatives to enhance workforce diversity and implemented frameworks to meet strategic equality objectives. Additionally, prior experience includes serving as Senior Investigation Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence Operational Coordination Casework Lead at HMRC. Michelle Herbert holds an HNC in Business and Finance and completed a management program with the Chartered Management Institute in 2022. Currently contributing as a School Governor for Safeguarding at Yew Tree Primary School since December 2021, Michelle Herbert combines extensive expertise in equality, diversity, and inclusion with robust leadership skills.
