Sevinj Essien has a diverse work experience spanning over 24 years. Sevinj has held various financial roles in organizations such as The Nursing and Midwifery Council, Church of England Central Services, Church House Publishing, Sharp Solutions Business Support Services, and the Embassy of The Republic of Azerbaijan UK. Their most recent position was as the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at The Nursing and Midwifery Council, where they previously served as the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. Before that, they worked as a Senior Finance Business Partner at The Nursing & Midwifery Council. Prior to their roles at the council, they were a Finance Business Partner for the Pensions Board at Church of England Central Services and a Management Accountant for the Church Commissioners and CofE Pensions Board Charitable Funds & Trusts. Sevinj also gained experience as a Management Accountant at Church House Publishing and an Accountant at Sharp Solutions, Business Support Services. In the earlier stages of their career, they served as a Management Accountant at the Embassy of The Republic of Azerbaijan UK. Sevinj has extensive experience in financial planning, management accounting, budgeting, and analysis, as well as a proven track record of collaborating cross-functionally and providing strategic financial advice and support.

Sevinj Essien has a diverse education history. In 1993, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Azerbaijani Language & Literature from Baku State University. Following that, from 1999 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Accounting & Management at Birkbeck, University of London. In 2003, they earned a Certificate in Accounting and Business/Management from the same institution. The next year, they obtained a Diploma (with distinction) in Accounting and Business/Management. Continuing their education, Sevinj completed their Chartered Certified Accountant degree from ACCA in 2009. Lastly, they pursued a Post-Graduate Certificate in Economics & Finance from Queen Mary University of London in 2009-2010.
