Nurture The Next
Heather Thompson, PHR, SHRM-CP, has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Heather currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Nurture The Next, a position they have held since April 2020. Prior to that, Heather worked at Gallagher as a Senior Consultant in HR & Compensation Consulting from April 2018 to March 2020. Heather also has a long tenure at Community Health Systems, where they held various roles including Human Resources Manager from August 2007 to March 2018, and Retention and Recruitment Specialist from August 2007 to December 2011.
Heather Thompson, PHR, SHRM-CP, holds an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Heather also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from Middle Tennessee State University, which they completed from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained certifications including the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute and the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from SHRM.

Nurture The Next
Our Mission is to create a future for children and families filled with promise and prosperity. Our work as an organization is centered on helping families provide nurturing homes and healthy childhoods for their children. But our name for the last three decades, Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee, hasn’t made that clear. That is why we are now Nurture the Next. Our new name emphasizes what we do, rather than what our work prevents. Our mission is still the same and we will maintain our affiliation with Prevent Child Abuse America. But we believe our new name will open doors to reach more families who would benefit from our services.
