Derick Botha is a seasoned professional in the nuclear power industry with over 22 years of experience. Currently serving as Product Development Manager at NuScale Power since January 2011, Derick has held diverse roles including Innovation Manager and Senior Licensing Project Manager, focusing on licensing projects in the USA. Prior to joining NuScale, Derick worked at PBMR Pty Ltd for nine years as a Project Engineer and Mechanical Engineer, and served as an Engineering Consultant at M-Tech Industrial. Derick's technical expertise encompasses the design and simulation of thermal systems such as power plants, HVAC, and heat pumps. Derick holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from North-West University.
