Suzanne Ousey has a diverse work experience. Suzanne started their career as the Chief Executive Officer of Nutrition Therapy Essentials in 2012 and continues in that role currently. Additionally, they worked as an Advisory Council and Preceptor at San Jose State University starting in 1998. Suzanne also founded Nutrition Therapy Essentials in 2012 and serves as the President, providing consulting services for registered dietitians, including long term and short term placement in healthcare communities and quality improvement consultation.
Suzanne Ousey attended Winthrop University from 1979 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition. In April 1993, they obtained the certification of Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

About Nutrition Therapy Essentials Nutrition Therapy Essentials (NTE) in San Jose was founded by Suzanne Ousey in 2012 after more than 25 years of experience in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics held by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, to provide compassionate dietitians who build strong bonds with their clients, and provide services tailored to fit the needs of each facility/organization. NTE is a group of passionate Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) that work with healthcare communities to bring positive changes and outcomes to the residents of the community. It is a unique organization that trains dietetic interns in long-term care communities by pairing them with our network of experienced RDNs, many of whom were once dietetic interns for NTE. This grassroots approach helps create a network of dietitians dedicated to changing lives one meal at a time. NTE leads to COC — Continuous improvements by assessments and education to optimize food service operation and managing clinical outcomes through collaboration with our clients and Dietitians. We consult with healthcare communities to provide medical nutrition therapy, Quality Assurance Assessments (QAPI), Dining Practices, Survey Preparation, Dietary Training/In-Services, Menu enhancement, Dietary Services Supervisor Development. NTE also provides on Call Dietitian/Temporary Services for RDN Vacation. Along with consulting RDN services NTE also offers: grocery/supermarket tours, weight management classes, corporate wellness programs, classroom nutrition education K-12, CEUs for RDs and CDMs, cooking classes, private nutrition counseling, and public education workshop. NTE provides expert RDNs to individualize solutions to each community’s unique dietary, nutritional and Food Service needs.
